The date: Tuesday 17th june 2008, mark it on your calendar.
The servers should be able to cope with us all to go and download the browser and bandwidth isn’t an issuse for Mozilla as Firefox is hosted by Google on their servers.
Mozilla is going to try and set a world record for the number of software downloads in 24 hours, with the release of Firefox 3. There are many new features and improvments over version 2 of the browser, it’s faster, safer and uses less memory.

Danica Patrick Inday Car star and GoDaddy girl is racing in the 92nd Indianapolis 500 this afternoon. The race starts at 18:00 GMT (13:00 EST) and will be streamed live on the Indy 500 site.
Hull City won 1-0 at Wembley last night against Bristol city and won promotion to the premier league, along £60 million for the club. Dean Windass scored the winning goal, a volley.
This is the first time the club has made the premier league in the 104 year club history. Celebrations are in Hull city on Monday 26th May 2008 including an open top bus tour of the city.
My local football team, Hull City A.F.C, has made it to Wembley for the first time and could now get promoted into the premier league. So to show support I have changed the header image for this site to show their logo.
They are also celebrating with a song, The Citys on Fire by Amber and Black, which you can download for free thanks to KCFM (UPDATE: download no longer available for free).
Nine Inch Nails are giving away their latest album, The Slip, for free exclusively on their site. The ten track album is available in high quality MP3 as well as Apple Lossless, FLAC and high def WAVE.
Of course all the tracks are DRM free and all you need to give them is a valid email address, and they send you a link to download the album in whatever formats you want shortly after.
Animoto is a free video creation tool and best of all it’s web based. You import your photos from many services including flickr, Picasa and Facebook and more or upload some, select a piece of music or upload some, none DRMed of course, and they’ll create a very professional looking video from your photos and the transitions match the music.
I created this video with some photos from flickr of Alton Tower gardens in a mater of minutes.
There’s no brain work needed, it’s just clicking.
You can create a 30 second video for free and its only $3 for anything longer or $30 for unlimited videos all year. Plus if you the referral code, “mcahonzi” (or just click here) you can save $5 on an all access pass.
I have made some small changes the site, the main ones been the sidebars are now both on the right of the page the and AJAX powered search and archives have been turned off now.
Moving the sidebars was for SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and because we read left to right, I put the most important information on the left hand side of the page.
The AJAX stuff was coursing problems with the new updates so I turned them off, choosing the tradition links (to pages) way as this make my life a bit simpler.
Other changes are on the back-end, preparing the theme and some plugins for use with WordPress 2.5 released last week.
